.Visit Hotmail.com. Enter your email address and password to log in.
.Mouse over your name, located in the upper-right corner of the page. Click “Options” from the drop-down menu that appears.

.Click “Mail” from the list on the left side of the page. You’ll be directed to the “Hotmail Options” page. Locate the “Customizing Hotmail” header on the “Hotmail Options” page. Click “Rules for Sorting New Messages.”
.Click “New.” The “Create Rule” page displays. Click the drop-down window, located under “Step One.” Here you will specify what messages you want to filter. Click “Sender’s address” to create a filter for messages sent from a specific email address, “Sender’s name” to filter messages by a name, “Subject” to filter messages by the subject, or “Messages with Attachments” to create a filter for all mail with attachments.
.In the box next to the drop-down window in “Step One,” type the email address, name, or email subject to be filtered.
.Click the appropriate radio button, located under “Step Two,” to apply the filter. You can select a folder, choose to delete messages automatically, add a mobile alert, forward mail to a new address or add a flag. When you have selected the desired option, click “Save.”
